EMDR AND BRAINSPOTTING
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) uses eye movements to connect to memory networks in the brain. It takes negative experiences that are in the way (think triggers) and files them neatly so they aren’t messing with your life.
Brainspotting works with really cool neuroscience! Using eye positions (where you look) and focused mindfulness, it helps process unhealed trauma, reduce anxiety, relieve depression and imposter syndrome and work on troubling behaviors.
Both of these access the deeper parts of the brain to heal from the inside out.
What does this mean?
IMHO… This is really the only way ND’s find true healing and acceptance. You will gain deeper understanding of how your brain works and more self-awareness into how YOU want to fit into this neurotypical world.
One of the top benefits of this approach is to learn what is typical for YOU, based on your brain. Then comes the deeper healing for all the times you’ve felt you were “too much” or “not enough” and have the scars to prove it. Weirdos unite!
